AMP 2014

FOURTH INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON ANTIMICROBIAL PEPTIDES
June 4-6, 2014, Lorient, France

Organized by the Société Française des Peptides Antimicrobiens (SF-PAM, French Antimicrobial Peptide Society) and the Laboratoire de Biotechnologie et Chimie Marines (LBCM), Université de Bretagne-Sud (UBS)

The objective of AMP 2014 is to provide an update on scientific knowledge in different areas of antimicrobial peptide research, considering peptides from all sources: natural peptides (ribosomal and nonribosomal, from prokaryotic and eukaryotic organisms) as well as engineered peptides.

Five topics will be addressed:
  • Novel sources of antimicrobial peptides (session A)
  • Biosynthesis, mechanisms of action and resistance (session B)
  • Multifunctionality of antimicrobial peptides (session C)
  • Antimicrobial peptides in microbial ecology, microbiome shaping and biofilm formation (session D)
  • Current and future applications (session E)

Oral communications:
45 presentations will be made by renowned invited speakers and by researchers selected from submitted abstracts. We are pleased to already announce the following invited speakers:
  • Michael Zasloff (Washington DC, USA) and Sylvie Rebuffat (Paris, France): opening talks
  • Alessandro Tossi (Trieste, Italia): session A
  • Hans-Georg Sahl (Bonn, Germany) and Kenji Sonomoto (Fukuoka, Japan): session B
  • Robert Hancock (Vancouver, Canada): session C
  • Martin Polz (Cambridge, USA): session D
  • Edwin de Pauw (Liège, Belgium), Thierry Jouenne (Rouen, France), and Djamel Drider (Lille, France): session E

Young researchers:
In each session, several oral presentations will be given by young researchers (PhD students and/or young postdoctoral fellows). Prizes will be attributed to the best oral presentations and best posters by young researchers.
